I find it unjust that a prerequisite for getting into graduate school to study conducting is being able to write well.

[livejournal.com profile] kassrachel, if things are not fruitful this go-round, does the non-profit offer correspondence courses?

Fret not. You know several writers/editors. I've helped folks thru grad school application essays before. If you want help, I'm happy to provide some. And I have learned a lot about teaching over the years -- I promise I won't brutalize you. I'm certain you have the ability to write quite well -- you do so here, after all. Believe in yourself, and check your spelling and punctuation :-}. Or ask me to do an edit; I'll sit with you and go over everything and explain why I suggest certain things. I frankly don't care if you implement all or any of my suggestions -- all I care about is that you make conscious choices when presented with alternatives.

And there will be no makeup involved. ;-}

But really, your writing here has been fine. And I *do* know the difference.

Well, 3 of them are due on Monday. :) But I may take you up on your offer for the other 5. (8 total. What was I thinking?)

For some reason, now you got "We're the Bloodhound Gang" stuck in my head. ;)

We will see what I end up with once my mother's through with me. She used to be an English teacher, and she doesn't pull her punches at all and I'm frankly surprised any of her students got out of her class alive. (Especially since this was Liberia, and I believe English was many people's second language.)

Indeed we do. *g* In early '04 we'll start offering a ton of online workshops, in every genre imaginable. Plus we do private tutorial/manuscript consulting. So, say, if you have essays you want someone to help you with, just fire off an email and we'll work something out.

*hug* Happy Turkey Day!
