I've been tagged for this meme, and I obey!
Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level?
Make a list, post it to your journal... and then invite 5 friends to post it to theirs.
* Since I am now watching The Daily Show, that's gotta top the list. Laughing is good for stress. Other shows that help with this are Queer Eye and Whose Line Is It Anyways?
* Other TV shows are also relaxing - Law and Order b/c it's always on, sci-fi when I run into it (e.g. Angel, Buffy, TNG, Firefly, etc.)
* Reading is always good, but I am learning recently that I have to choose my books - no depressing stories about Mormonism, no all-too-faithful novels based on disturbing fairy tales. I'm reading Cryptonomicon right now - that's working really well.
* Bumming around online. Posting whiny entries so that my friends will post validating comments. ;)
* I use music to affect my mood, but it's not the first thing I think of when I need stress-relief - I'm more likely to use it to give myself energy.
* Finally and most importantly, anything physical. Jogging is actually a necessity if I'm particularly stressed out, or weight-lifting, or taekwondo, or biking, or even walking in a pinch. Exercise does more than anything else to straighten out my brain.

Date: 2005-06-18 03:23 am (UTC)You are SO RIGHT about the hot tub and massages. I forgot those. I suppose since it said "things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play" that I assumed that meant things you don't do with other people. Hot-tubbing is really something I only enjoy with other people.
