It is Boxing Day, so I am responding to all the LJ comments that I am delinquent on.
You are correct about your assessment of the situation above. :) Also I would agree that women joke about it more and men are more likely to keep their mouths shut, although comics of both genders unfortunately still seem to think it's really funny.
