Last March, my parents gave me for my birthday a TV and DVD player, to be purchased at some future date. We kept putting this date off, b/c I was moving back up here, and then I was moving again, and then my house was a mess and I wasn't unpacked, blah blah blah.

Well, today (despite not being totally spic-and-span yet in my studio) my dad and I went to Circuit City and bought me a TV (flat screen! I love having a gadget geek for a dad!) and a DVD player. And we got one of those little portable DVD players, and that way I can hook it up to the big screen when I'm home, and if I travel I can take it with me and watch movies. We were extremely proud of ourselves for thinking of this arrangement. (The fact that everyone doesn't do it makes me wonder if I'm missing some crucial flaw in this set-up, but the guy at Circuit City confirmed it's perfectly easy to hook up one to the other.)

SO, for the first time in my life, I own a TV! (Previously I either mooched from roommates or lived without one.) Stay tuned to find out when I get it hooked up. :)

Those would both be awesome! I would take very good care of them! I've been hearing really good things about Veronica Mars.

The flat screen was about $280, and it's 16". I just inaugurated the set-up last night with some Firefly, and the portable DVD player thing works great, esp. since it comes with a little remote!
