I'm sick. again. it sucks. I spent all day in bed sleeping. My nose is stuffed and my throat hurts (again) and I'm achy. This seems totally unfair. This weekend was my chance to catch up on everything so I could survive the next two weeks. grump.

I'm told that children are plaguebearers.

But I haven't been around any children for two days! Would the plague really hide out that long?

Yes. Plague hides before the full frontal throatal assault. Feel better. Soup.

"the full frontal throatal assault"

Wow. That sounds pretty dirty. And like I ought to be having way more fun than I actually am.

Yup on the delayed rxn time plague ridden kiddies. Also on the soup; if you can get it, chicken pho (easy on the peppers) would be my recommended soup variant for this sort of cold.

Oooh yeah: the hottest of hot peppers tend to be my crutch at plague time. That and the good ol' fashioned Jewish penicillin.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. I've already told [livejournal.com profile] thomascantor I feel like a mucus-Athena is about to burst from my forehead.

Well, shucks. I hope you feel better. I'm feeling much better today. It may have been following my brother's suggestion of tomato soup and bananas. (Not blended together.)

Mucus-Athena is a great image. I think you should run with it. ;)

I hope you are feeling better : ). All I can say is that MANY teachers have warned me to expect to be sick . . . well, let's just say often, during the first year of teaching. Don't forget that there's a few little things that can help. Wash your hands frequently (especially before eating). Drink lots of fluids. Take vitamins regularly. Sleep regularly. And avoid touching your face unless you have just washed your hands.

The avoiding touching my face thing was also mentioned by my mother - and seems impossible. But I'll try! (I went out and bought some anti-bacterial soap yesterday.)
