Just found this advice column, and the answer for the question I linked to is gorgeous. I think this is what Cary Tennis wants to be doing, and really, really isn't. off to read some more of it!

Ugh. My digital camera will NOT mount on my Mac, so I cannot post pictures of new kitty! ARGH. I have done a lot of troubleshooting online (not my favorite activity) and come up with nothing. I know the cable works. I think I have to take it in to a camera store.
