Dec. 26th, 2005 12:04 pmOK, it's Boxing Day! Life is back to normal, and I can get back to being outraged over things I stub my toe on in the media.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that there's a gender wage gap. This article does a good job of reminding us how that hurts everyone, not just the employee in question.
But the comments on this article were what aggravated me. There's nothing wrong with questioning where the data came from. (Unless, y'know, it's clearly cited in the article, which it is, but whatever.) But a disturbingly large amount of posters seem to think this is a "myth" and just another example of how the media is controlled by feminists.
The heck?
(For more information on this topic, go to The Wage Project. This will also give some evidence that women don't just get paid less because they take time off to raise children. There are other factors at work.)
