busy weekend
Sep. 29th, 2003 03:28 pmSaturday woke up early, went to Longy, helped out with children's choruses for 4 hours. (Next week I do them all by myself - yikes!) Then went straight to Ruddigore rehearsal, which thankfully got out an hour early, so at 4:00 pm I found myself at the end of 6 hours of rehearsal instead of 7 with a spare hour. I really meant to go lie on the Boston Common and unwind for a bit before meeting K, but ended up going and buying myself a metronome instead. (I'm sufficiently busy lately that it's hard to refrain from using spare time to get things done that need to get done.) Then met K for her scavenger-hunt b-day party, which was quite fun (except the restaurant unexpectedly turned into a loud crowded nightclub, which was a bit of a bore.) But there are now pictures of all sorts of strange things in downtown Boston, including Maggie cutting off my hand with a cruller and me looking anguished ("Luke, I am your father!" "Nooooooo!"); Maggie and I each eating one end of said cruller to fulfill the "phallic foods" picture while an onlooker looks sideways at us in severe doubt; Maggie and I doing a wheelbarrow across Tremont St.; Maggie and I in godawful pink dresses; Mike and Josh holding me upside down over a playground fence; and a small child on the playground pretending to kick Mike in the ass. (That one's really special - she put a lot of heart into it.) The other teams were pretty excellent too, but the only one I remember particularly was D getting pimped up.
Sunday was busy in the morning preparing for rehearsal (must not procrastinate rehearsal preparations!) then biking to West Roxbury on the SouthEast Corridor Bikeway, which is surprisingly close to my house, leading rehearsal, then biking home and making dinner for the week. (Note to interested parties: this may be liberal hippie Boston, but you still can't buy seitan at Shaw's.)
