Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Rally. I liked the last two the best.

ironic that she talks about Jon Stewart's privilege on display. His real name is Jon Leibowitz, but it wasn't very likely that he'd be a successful comedian with that name.

Why is that ironic? The ways in which he has fallen flat on his face in the past year did not involve Jewish jokes. I stopped watching after that horrible ching-chong-Chinaman bit involving Kim Jong Il over a year ago. The man's an insane dictator, and all they could do was make fun of his accent and squinty eyes? Not to mention the whole women-on-the-staff debacle.

Um, I just listed two.

I thought the women-on-the-staff debacle was a load of crap and I haven't heard of any issue regarding any Kim Jong Il video. When I googled Jon Stewart Kim Jong Il I didn't find any articles or anything.

Well, I didn't think the women-on-the-staff debacle was a load of crap at all. They could have made it a load of crap by going, "hey, you're right, we have more men than women. We'll take a look at that in the future." But instead they had to be all "But look at how many ASSISTANT blah-blahs are women!" That, for me, was the irritating part.

And I don't think the Kim thing really hit the internet at all; I just remember watching it on TV and being unable to believe what I was seeing, and after that I just drifted away. That was personal, the internet didn't latch on to it. It was 1-2 years ago at this point.

I am not saying that John Stewart does not do a great job, and call out a lot of hypocrites and liars in a very satisfying way, and put on a good show. But he shows his privilege a lot, and nobody on that show ever seems interested in addressing their mistakes.
