Moar on mansplaining! I am totally digging all these comment streams. I think the comments on these entries are very good reading for any woman suffering from imposter's syndrome, frankly, since I think mansplaining and imposter's syndrome are tangentially related.
Reminds me of the dude online who found my blog, and despite never having seen me perform in any way, much less conduct, decided that I wouldn't make it as a conductor, that he knew better than me what I should be doing, and tried to mansplain to me why I should become a music librarian. In multiple e-mails. To a stranger! When I was a professional and he was not! It is somewhat unexpected, but I think I have received a lot more mansplaining about music than about physics - I can frankly at the moment not remember receiving any physics mansplaining at all.
