Everyone keeps saying, "Oh, so since orals are over, you're practically done, right? You have nothing to do?"

Tonight: rehearsal from 6-11:30 (it's an hour away)
Tomorrow night: rehearsal from 6-11:30 (it's an hour away)
Friday night: try to attend both the Westminster opera performance (none of which I've seen since I've been here) AND the Symphonic Choir performance, which are at the same time. Test theory of being in two places at one time.
Saturday night: performance from 6-midnight (at the place an hour away)
Sunday night: throw a dual-birthday party two friends!
Monday night: dress rehearsal for Roseae Feminae
Tuesday night: last performance for Roseae Feminae
Wednesday night: rehearsal that, frankly, I just might skip

Also before graduation: need to write a paper. Don't have a topic yet. Also need to learn to play Bach's Fugue in C from Book I...in any key. Also need to study for finals. Also need to find a job. Also need to complete various homework assignments, such as that little article report due last week.

All I want to do is sit in front of the TV and watch a LOT of it. Like, hours. With no feelings of guilt b/c I ought to be doing something else. For a WEEK - tons and tons and tons of TV! All alone, with take-out! House, DS9, Buffy, Angel, BSG, TNG, Law & Order, Lost, Gilmore Girls - I'm not picky! I just want to watch a lot of TV! Please?

Accomplished so far - went for a run/walk with [livejournal.com profile] annelarissa this morning, and also submitted a job application. Go, me! Next job on the list: University of Hawaii!

One of my profs this semester just came over from the U of Hawaii. Apparently (I've heard from other sources, not her) it's full of hippy-liberals like yourself. You'll fit right in, you elitist pig-dog.

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!

...oh, wait. Whoops.

No no, it's ok. You're adopted.

Oh. That's oddly comforting - I always wondered why I looked nothing like Dad.

Yeah you're actually Dad's mom. You were adopted... from time travellers. Dad was adopted from you by Grampa and Bestemor.

Celebrity news?

I was going to be all positive and point out that Guffman will happen eventually and that I plan to ensure that lots of Lost occurs this summer. Then I noticed the "all alone" stipulation about your TV watching. :-/

No, I want to watch lots of TV with you, too. It's just that I'm inherently an introvert, and I've had no time to nourish that side of me recently - heck, I just got home, and it's past 11! I will probably get back from Spoleto, hibernate for a few days, and then be completely ready to tackle all of Lost! I think I'll get a DVD player so we can watch it at my house too. :)

watching non-sports tv is better alone. i dont' like it when people are talking and i'm trying to figure out whats going on. but watching sports is always better with other people. but you don't watch sports. so i guess you will just end up in a cave.

btw, how's Lost? Are there any genetically engineered super-humans descending from flying saucers to explain why they are manipulating the island and creating giant polar bears?

Well, I liked it a lot, as you know - but the last time I saw any was on those DVD's I had borrowed during X-mas break.

May your rehearsals and performances go great, your paper practically write itself, and may you get a job...in BOSTON!

(Um, well, if you Really Wanna move to Hawaii I guess I'll wish that for you...but it's so Far Away. =whimper=)

Hey, it's only a year-long job - I'd have to get something else after that anyways!

Absolutely! (Because of course I'm going to definitely get the job...)

Well, if the dingbats don't offer you the job, we might just have to go over to U of H anyhoo, and lodge a protest. ;.)

I approve of Hawaii so long as (a) you station yourself on the Big Island rather than Honolulu (Honolulu); (b) your 10-acre compound is located on the South Kohala coast near Kona, which has a decent music scene; (c) your compound has a few beachside bungalo-type thingies; and (d) you invest in a private plane with landing rights in the NYC metro area. Otherwise, really, why bother? :)

It is tempting to apply to faraway places for jobs -- I myself came way close to apply for a clerkship in the Virgin Islands, and a colleague of mine got a prestigious Ninth Circuit clership in Honolulu just because -- but professionally, once you're there, you're there. It's another world. If you happen to want another world, kewl. Otherwise, what precisely is wrong with New York or Boston? :)

Spoken like a true dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker. :)

Well, the University's in Honolulu, so I don't think I have a choice of where to station myself!

Otherwise, what precisely is wrong with New York or Boston? :)

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] kcobweb - damn! You ARE a New Yorker! Why do I need a reason to get a job somewhere else?

Well, I'm am a New Yorker, yes, but I'm not a Manhattanite or even one that thinks that the world revolves around New York. My point wasn't that one needs a reason to be somewhere other than New York -- there are zillions of such reasons. My limited point is that especially for a musician, there's nothing wrong with New York or Boston. A wee bit defensive, are we?

West Wing has been really good lately. You should watch on Sunday night at the party!

Well, if you would COME to the party, it would be exciting enough that we wouldn't need to watch TV!
