wavyarmsI got tagged to do the 10 Happy Things meme: list, in no particular order, ten things that make you happy, and then tap five people to do the same.
Off the top of my head, 10 happy-making things.
1.) Singing choral music one-to-a-part. A Josquin motet where I'm the only one on my line? Awesome.
2.) Food! Esp.: Bent Spoon ice cream; good clam chowder; the gooey inside of a soft-boiled egg; fresh-squeezed orange juice; cheese; Burdick's hot chocolate (of any flavor). I could go on!
3.) Cuddling. Barring the possibility for that, getting a long hug from a good hugger that I care about.
4.) New Year's in Western MA.
5.) Backrubs.
6.) Reading a good, straight-forward, rip-roaring adventure novel. Or mystery.
7.) Getting on my bike for the first time in the spring, and thinking "Oh, this is where I belong. I'd forgotten." Also, going on long, long bike-trips, where the only thing to think about is making sure you eventually get where you're going.

rissymonster's latest entry made me miss TKD. Dominating a sparring match is quite a feeling, though it would take me some practice before it would be likely to happen again!
9.) I'm not sure that "happy" is the right word for leading a good rehearsal. Similar to sparring, it's too absorbing an activity for me to register emotions during it. But it certainly is a trip, in a good way!
10.)chorusgirl19 is having us sing "As I Went Down to the River to Pray" (from O Brother, Where Art Thou) in her recital. Singing that is happy-making.
